Shades of social mobility: Colorism, ethnic origin and intergenerational social mobility

In this paper, I study the difference in intergenerational mobility patterns between indigenous and non-indigenous Mexican populations, analyzing role played by variability skin tones inside both groups. employ a composite sample based on two recent surveys with same sampling frame questionnaire design. obtained three main results rank-rank regressions transition matrices for economic educational dimensions. First, population faces higher degree of persistence remains concentrated at bottom distribution resources. Secondly, there is tone gradient where lighter tend to remain rank resources than darker tones. Thirdly, association ethnic origin, persist even after controlling experienced person.
